About Pastor Matt:
Pastor Matt is the Lead Pastor at First United Methodist in Costa Mesa. He is known for engaging and thought-provoking sermons and riding his pink skateboard around the church.
After studying philosophy and religion at Point Loma Nazarene University and Claremont School of Theology, Matt started pastoring in the Church. It was at seminary that Pastor Matt found his passion for ministry, specifically for gathering people who have been traditionally left out by the mainstream Church, and loves seeing the creativity and community these folks have brought to a wild and wonderful faith.
About the Role:
The role of the Collaborating Pastor is to coordinate with the Connectional Teaching Pastor on visioning and planning in order to create a collaborative set of ministries based in reflection and action, connecting communities and finding points of organic connection and partnership within congregations, between congregations, and with the outside community
